Yes, it is farewell for Thoughts on TVB

These are the few reasons why I am not continuing:

1. I am not interested in TVB as much as I was last time. If there is no passion or interest, there is certainly no motivation as well.

2. I also won't have much time to watch series anymore because next year, I will be much busier as before. I am taking many new subjects next year, which requires a lot of my attention, practice and concentration. I would like to be uninvolved in TVB, as much as possible.

3. A TVB-related fan blog, is not complete without reviews and the latest information. Honestly, I can't write reviews! I seem to find every series I watch lately, mediocre. I am also not too good in pointing out the weaknesses and strengths in a series.

4. I will be creating a new Gigi Lai archive/fansite. I find it much easier to post in a blog which only requires information about one person or thing. Searching for news is also easier.
Handling a TVB fansite is not as easy as it seems. TVB is very general, and I'm very late in receiving new series filming updates or news.

I won't be deleting the blog though. I'll keep it here, as memories.

This comes as a huge blow to FU. He is not willing to lose his love, but neither can he reveal his real identity. Caught up in the dilemma between love and money, FU finally chooses the fortune road of no return.

Thoughts
WOOT!!! It's finally being aired. Honestly, I don't expect much from the series because of the previous grand productions... quality deteriorating! I've been seeing a lot of family-fighting-for-business plots lately >_< Also, I don't fancy series which have to do with family business or that sort of thing. But this series, has so many TVB veterans whom we have not seen on-screen for ages! I will watch this for them :)

Episode 3
- Charmaine asks Power to become a part-time CEO for the restaurant.
- Power makes efforts to improve the restaurant. But it makes it harder for the workers there.
- Teresa receives a delivery order but she has to deliver it to somewhere dangerous...
- Benz hires Dayo to become a minor consultant.
- Funny scene: Power and Mandy goes to a pub to try to please a manager of a big company (which happens to be Benz). Coincidentally, Benz brings Dayo along. Dayo sees the both of them there.
Dayo: (T0 Power) Wow, you come to such a place for fun? I'm going to tell your wife about it. (To Mandy) You have come too? I'm going to tell your husband about it. (To Power) Oh, both of you have come! I'm going to tell your father about it!
(His acting just makes it so much funnier!)
Benz's company decides to buy Charmaine's dad's restaurant for HK$4 millilon. Power and Mandy quickly agreed.
- Jason was not too happy to hear the news.

Episode 4
- Everyone decided to not sell the restaurant. They also removed Power as the CEO, and replaced him with Teresa.
- They underwent a renovation and the restaurant did better than before.
- Benz's father is rushing Dayo to buy the old buildings so that they can rebuild.
- Dayo wants to buy Chai Kei (the restaurant) and all the other neighbouring restaurants again. They did not want to sell it.
- Dayo's company (Wu Shi Enterprises Group) held a meeting to discuss about the acquisition. All of them (the owner and workers of the restaurants) worked hard in preparing for the meeting. In the end, Benz's dad adjourned the meeting and wanted to think thoroughly before buying the shops.
- Charmaine asks Dayo for help to teach her how to expand Chai Kei's business.
- Dayo teaches Charmaine how to be a 'dirty businessman'.
- The other 2 restaurants have sold their restaurant to Dayo.
- Benz has a crush on Charmaine.

Episode 1
- Dayo comes back from NY to HK.
- Benz Hui lost his hotel.
- Dayo helps Benz recover the hotel
- Charmaine meets Benz and asks him to help her pay her things through credit card first. Dayo discourages Benz to do so. But in order for Benz to help Charmaine pay, Charmaine has to allow Benz to hug her xD (But Benz was only grasping her shoulders and hips o.O)
- Benz's dad offers Dayo a VIP suite. Dayo was actually a famous business tycoon (In this scene, Dayo plays 'Moonlight Sonata' on piano!).
- Power and Mandy comes back for dinner. When Mandy opened Charmaine's wardrobe, all her bags fell down (Char reminds me of Rebecca Bloomwood)
- Dayo has found Teresa and her family. Teresa sells round cakes. Coincidentally, Charmaine was also there to collect Teresa's debt. Charmaine thought Dayo was Teresa's husband and blames him for treating her badly. Dayo borrows money from Charmaine's company.

Episode 2
- Charmaine finds a house for Dayo through Mandy.
- Dayo finds a job for Teresa at Jason's restaurant.
- Charmaine misunderstood Dayo for Teresa's husband. Teresa then explains that Dayo was actually her real husband's partner. After her husband died, Dayo supported her and gave her a huge sum of money. So she came back to HK. But her mother-in-law got cheated, so she lost all her money.
- Charmaine finds a job for Dayo so that he can pay back the money he owed Charmaine. But Dayo scared the job hunter away.
- Mandy introduces Charmaine to a handsome client. Charmaine then meets someone who has owed her company money (they couldn't locate him at first). So she chases him for money. Mandy's client is afraid of Charmaine and he runs away. In the end, she failed to chase the guy for money. Dayo and Charmaine also had a near-fatal accident and Charmaine's handbag was damaged.
- There have been less customers in Jason's restaurant so they found out that it was caused by another restaurant. Dayo introduced an effective way for the other restaurant to gain customers to get back at Charmaine. But Teresa helps Jason's restaurant to improve.
- Dayo escapes temporarily from paying back his money by asking Charmaine's 'brothers' to trade stocks.

Transferred Connection of Temptation filming #2, Steven wants to get married

Steven Ma Wants to Get Married

Steven Ma has been busy filming new series "Transferred Connection of Temptation", and the other day, he filmed a wedding scene with Fala Chen. The couple will have a happy ending in the series. Steven and Fala have filmed many series together, and the two are quite good friends. When Fala was picking out the wedding dress, Steven was serious in giving his opinion. Fala expressed that she really likes working with Steven because he can bring her positive energy when working together. Even if it is hard work, Steven will take a deep breath and say, "Let's go!" and they will continue to strive for success. When Steven is tired and all worn out, he will not speak, but he will definitely not make a scene. Fala really admires Steven for having a good heart, and he is willing to tell his partner the truth; therefore, she has a lot of trust for Steven.

Fala also said that during this cooperation, she discovered that Steven is a person who really wants to get married. "Whenever there are kids filming on scene, he would change himself into a father figure, and treat them with love. He will definitely make a good husband and good father". When asked if she or Steven will marry first, Fala believes Steven will marry first. But Steven did not agree, but expressed that he does want to have a family with a happy marriage. It is his biggest wish. Steven had always wanted to marry before the age of thirty. He also hopes to become a father, and when he gets married, he hopes to have kids right away.

Upon returning from a trip with her husband NG MAN TAK (Chung King Fai), cookery teacher LO SIU LAI (Louise Lee) is shocked to find that her little daughter NG CHOI NI (Fala Chen) has started cohabiting with a homosexually inclined colleague LAU TAT YAN (Timmy Hung) while her divorced sister LO SIU MEI (Christine Ng) is seemingly caught up in a love triangle between tenant YAU KAI (Evergreen Mak) and her ex-husband. By and by TAK is forced to retire early and stays at home all day with nothing to do. LAI, on the other hand, is lucky enough to have the opportunity to host a culinary show on TV. Everything seems to have happened too fast but this does not leave LAI frustrated and accursed. Instead she tries to get round every problem with even more patience and dedication, which however is not appreciated by TAK. The bickering continues until LAI eventually thinks of a good way to tackle TAK.

Delivering a real taste of home, "The Stew of Life" gives you an insight into how women think and feel about relationship and family issues as a daughter, wife and mother.

Members of the once dissolved "Death Investigation Extension (D.I.E.)" have been called together. YUE CHI LONG (Kwok Chun ON), CHEUNG CHING YEE (Derek Kwok) and other team members are all gearing up to crack unsolved cold cases with their usual out-of-the-box style. YING CHING CHING (Kwok Sonija) has been looking forward to this for a long time. She is so excited that she even brings along her baby son to work! LONG is not happy about this, yet he has no choice but to take turns with other team members to take care of the baby, bringing about rounds after rounds of hilarious episodes. CHING discovers by chance that her son has inherited LONG's supernatural powers. In order to prove to LONG she is as capable as him as an inspector, CHING makes use of their son's powers in investigating. LONG is even more displeased, and their relationship has suffered a great deal. High-flier MAK TAI SONG (Dayo Wong) has dissociated himself from the business world by showing deep regret to the suicide of his mentor. Charmaine looks quite pretty in the series! I've been longing to see another Michael series too :D Lol I wonder if Cheung Kwok Keung is gonna be the villian. I haven't seen him on screen for a while.. And Dayo's always having the same love relationships in series. This is another of his 'bickering couple' relationships. It has happened in War of the Genders, To Catch The Uncatchable, Men Don't Cry and for this one as well. I'm kinda sick of seeing the same old relationships! I hope this one works out.

I am really looking forward to the show! I love FungYi! This series is 25 episodes long (credits to hyn5)! I don't know what to say about the episode length. 30 would be perfect though cause 40 would be too long and 20 is too short.

The series is actually based on a Japanese drama, "Detective Galileo".

They have gradually developed their relationship through business contact. However, in order to avoid recurrence of genetic mental disease, YEE detaches her feeling from YAN.

Top confidential of Hong Kong's border security.

Immigration Department is guarding the door of Hong Kong, and seeks out to prevent doubtful identities and criminals from entering Hong Kong. It only not creates a highly demanding task for immigration officer and also raises a further question - how will they make identity verification as accurate as possible?

FONG TSUN KIT (Roger Kwok) becomes friends with two other candidates CHENG PAK YUE (Cho Wing Lim) and YIP ON KEI (Yoyo Mung) while applying for a post in the Immigration Department. YU is an aggressive person. He later moves to the Police Force and is promoted to Senior Inspector of Regional Crime Unit. While investigating a murder case, he realizes that the new gang leader WU KIT SUM (Kenny Wong) has killed somebody because of KIT's wife. It totally turns KIT's life upside down. Hey! Gosh, it has been such a long time since I updated. Sorry, life has been sooo hectic and the internet connection is getting crappier and crappier everyday. So much homework, projects, events etc... Internet connection is down most of the time (don't know why) and it only works once in a while, freaky.

Kate Tsui entering the Music industry, worried about singing Live

Kate Tsui appeared as the spokesperson and attended the Sasa Anniversary Dinner. She revealed that she is starting to work on her music career. Currently she is busy dancing and practising her singing. The reporter mentioned that many artists become singers however their singing is average when they sing live. She stated that she is also worried about that. "I will do my best. I am a newcomer and hope people will forgive me". (What will be your image?) "My dancing will be a little sexy. I also have to wear 3 to 4 inch high heels to dance but I'm afraid I might twist my ankle".

Thoughts
Why are almost all the TVB actors/actresses going into singing?! It makes them look like they want more popularity. Well, I won't mind if the artiste sings good, but a lot sing, although they don't sound very good. Why can't they just STAY actors/actresses, and singers stay singers. But once again, if they're good in both ways.. then I don't mind.

A few I think who are good, would be.. Raymond, Ron and Niki. I'm not being biased at all. If you haven't heard their singing (I bet most of you have), go check it out. Linda, Wong Cho Lam and Myolie sing okay, but they have room for improvement, since they're new in their singing careers. I believe they will improve, just like their acting.. over the years. Tavia isn't really going to be a singer, she's just singing TVB themesongs or singing for events, though I like her rendition of Sammi Cheng's Forever Beauty (終身美麗). She kinda went off-key a bit. But I didn't like her singing in the themesong for Sweetness In The Salt. I think Tavia's not suited to sing low-pitched songs. Charmaine.. well, I would want to watch more acting instead of singing from her. Kate Tsui.. I don't know about her cause I haven't heard her singing yet. Yumiko Cheng.. I think she's bad in both acting and singing. Have you heard of her song, Up and Down?! I'm sorry, I find it kinda silly or probably it's not my cup of tea.
There are a few other people which I am not fond of, but I simply can't recall any of them right now.

The Winter Melon Tale 大冬瓜

FAN TUNG (Liu Kai Chi) is one of the four deities under the Stove God. He has offended the Queen Mother of the West of being ravenous and gets imprisoned for 500 years in the winter melon. By chance TIN TAI KWAI (Sunny Chan) and his wife CHUNG PIK YUK (Louisa So) free him from constraint. TUNG has crashed with KWAI's older brother TIN TAI FU (also played by Liu Kai Chi) accidentally and his spirit enters FU's body inexplicably while losing all his instincts.

TUNG starts living in KWAI's house and getting closer to the family. YUK finds suspicious TUNG and she tries to unmask him by all means. Having failed in his attempt to return to Heaven, TUNG becomes reliant on the help of six little deities who assimilated his instincts released from the melon, and since then TUNG is aware of the fickleness of human nature. One day, FU's truant wife LING FUNG (Rain Lau) suddenly returns. She ruins everything and even causes the death of KWAI. In order to get his life back, TUNG illicitly breaks into the netherworld.

Oh, I won't be posting for a while. I don't like TVB as much as before. Everything has changed. I was re-watching a few episodes of some of the old series (1990-2005), and I just noticed it was way better than all the series in the present. Golden Faith, At The Threshhold of an Era, The Link, The Change of Time, The Blood of Good and Evil, The Greed of Man, War and Beauty, Wong Fei Hung - Master of Kung Fu etc..
all beats the present series. Except for a few such as Under The Canopy of Love, The Seventh Day, Last One Standing, War of In Laws, Heart of Greed, The Academy, On The First Beat, The Ultimate Crime Fighter, and a few others.

GOSH, I don't feel like updating this blog, there's no drive. What's the point of updating the blog if TVB is less interesting? No direction.. And anyways, this year, I aim to concentrate on my studies. Sigh, I better think about this.

Kong Sai Hou (Michael Miu) is released from jail in Taiwan. He returns to Hong Kong immediately and tries to find his daughter KONG YAU YAU (Elanne Kong) so as to heal their relationship. By pretending to be friendly with the one who made him in jail, the gang leader TO YIK TIN (~~Carrie Lam~~Lam Lei)*, KONG is eager to get even with him, and also intends to draw two young policemen to his side in order to strengthen his influence. LEE PAK KIU (Sammul Chan) from the Emergency Unit is reluctant to get close with a gangster while CHUNG LAP MAN (Ron Ng) from Special Duty Squad believes that KONG could help them fight against TIN by acting as an informer. MAN develops a close relationship with him gradually but he has been dismissed before accomplishing the task. Afterwards, KONG takes MAN under his wing and MAN devotes himself to the triad society.

TIN always put KONG on his guard and he asks his trusted follower LEUNG SIU TONG (Michael Tse) to keep a close eye on KONG. On the other hand, KONG fights back by making use of TIN's wife CHING YEUK SAM (Kathy Chow Hoi Mei) to strengthen his power in the gang. KONG eventually becomes the gang leader and he believes that everything is under control. However, the drug trafficking business keeps running into trouble abnormally. KONG begins to question the loyalties among his confidants.

I have been anticipating this series ever since it started filming! This is a must-watch for me, especially since Kathy has made a comeback. She was (and probably still is) one of my favourite actress back then. She still looks as beautiful too! Elanne was always a singer/movie actress in my eyes. Now that she filmed a series, I'd like to watch her performance, which perhaps will be the same in her movies. I like Sammul too! Glad he's still in the series. The themesong sounds catchy. Lastly, they have a really cool poster!

Hey, so how's everyone doing lately? Sry for not posting frequently, I've been pretty busy with a lot of things especially homework! School just started for me and probably for others as well. It has been a rough first week of school. A lot of 'interesting' things happened lately.. I'm still catching up on Gem, despite the VERY slow internet connection I'm facing right now. I can't believe I'm already downloading up to episode 59, it's a record!! I have never downloaded so many episodes of series in my life

Anyways, I give up on the write-ups for TGOL! It's just too long, I can't cope with it especially with the loads of homework my teachers are giving. So I plan to just do screencaps of the important or memorable parts of the episode, gives you a glimpse of what's gonna happen before you watch it or it brings back 'memories' when you watched that certain episode!
Probably I'll start from episode 35.. but if you guys have any special requests on what episode to screencap (except for the episodes I have already provided write-ups for), feel free to ask.
Hopefully, I'll start screencap-ing and replying your tags tomorrow, right after my hw

NIP CHI YUEN (Steven Ma), who works in the anti-smuggling camp, is determined to wipe out the Tau's Fort, which is the stronghold for salt smugglers. He pretends to be a down-and-out scholar. HIN finds a job for SUET at the salt company his family runs to help her get over her unhappiness. To repay him, she devotes herself entirely to the job. SUET's real identity comes to light when her younger uncle reappears out of the blue. HIN, for fear that his family will report SUET, proposes to her.

Thoughts
The plot sounds like a usual TVB series, but it's pretty romantic! And Tavia looks super pretty in this series. I was also looking forward to another Tavia&Steven series, they were awesome together in Land of Wealth. But due to school, homework and what not.. I won't be watching this, until probably February

The Gem of Life - Martin (Ngok Wah)'s transformation.

Warning - Spoilers ahead!

Those who have been watching Gem, should probably know that Martin Ho Fung (Ngok Wah) is a very gentle businessman. He's quite quiet at times, and doesn't have a very good relationship with his son, Terrence Ho (Moses Chan). He is also shy, shy as in shy in the business world, as he doesn't really chase for HUGE projects like the projects his son and Sung Sai Man fight for.
Other than that, he is always giving way to his 'good friend' Sung Sai Man (Chan Hung Lit).

He also has a loving wife, Jessica Hong Nga Sze (Ada Choi), the youngest daughter of the Hong family. People have told him that she married him because of his money, but he did not care.. he married her unofficially in Phuket, after they met each other in a cave and thought it was fate that brought them together.

But in episode 50, his true colours shine.

He is no longer the Martin we once judged. He had a plan, a brilliant plan to slowly defeat Sung Sai Man. He plotted carefully for years, being very patient and not giving up on it. Turns out that Charlie, Sung Sai Man's fourth wife (Queena Chan) was some kind of spy, working for Martin, telling him about Sung Sai Man's plans. After enduring all those years full of pain, anger and suffering, Martin is now #1 in the HK business world. Even his close ones (Terrence, Melissa and Jessica) all found this a huge shock. He even whistled on his way out after pushing SSM down.

In fact, he looked pretty scary when he had a conversation with Terrence after his argument with SSM.

Martin: Why are you staring at me like that?
Terrence: I just want to see clearly, whether the person in front of me, was the father I used to know.
Martin: To succeed, you have to endure. You can forget the old me. From today onwards, everything will change for the better. It will be come our world!

I read some spoilers that he will become very insecure of his things including his loved one, Jessica, thinking that she had an affair with Tai Wor. And he will eventually die.
I am really looking forward to future episodes, curious at how Martin's greed will tackle and overtake him.

Oh yeah, also.. I finally got to watch the first episode of Moses's new variety show, Coffee Confidential (link from All About Mo). Moses looks sooo good in the show ! He went to Indonesia in this episode, in search of how Coffee Luwak was made. And I definitely learned an awful lot about coffee. LOL.. and that Irish coffee Moses made in the end looked so tempting, with whipped cream on top... COFFEE COFFEE COFFEE! LOL, sorry, I'm a bit hyper cause I just drank coffee
And I got new emoticons! Cute ones
Okay, I'm over-doing it!

Bookshop staff Fong Hok Man (Paul Chun) always believes that "knowledge is power". He tries hard to encourage his older son Fong Sum Ming (Wayne Lai) and his younger son Fong Sum Ching (Eric Suen) to study more. Unfortunately, Ming is not good at studying at all and he quits after secondary school. On the other hand, Ching is a very smart boy and Mng works hard overseas to support Ching's further studies on computer sciences in America.

The two brothers return to Hong Kong eventually and they work in the same commercial building. Ching works as a senior network security engineer while Ming works as a junior security guard. Man worries that the difference in their job ranking will hinder their relationship. Ming admires a girl Yuen Wai Chung (Sonija Kwok) who opens a paper mud figure shop. Man tries to help Ming establish his career by buying a secondhand bookshop for him to operate. However, Man doesn't realize that the virtual world is gradually manipulating his family. Ching meets a romanticist Tsu Hei Man (Vivien Yeo) at work which creates misunderstanding between him and his girlfriend, Lui Yuen Yi (Shirley Yeung). Man's younger daughter Fong Sum Mei (Lily Ho) indulges herself in the virtual world and she is suspected for stealing exam papers on the internet.

The Gem of Life - Summary of Episode 11-15

LSK and John went out to eat dinner together to avoid the complaints of Maggie and Ada. But after the rantings, they realized that it was all for their own good.

Bowie wanted Josephine to work in his company, so he had to hire Maggie as well.

Bowie suggested to Sung Sai Gei that they use Eddie to challenge Lau Dan.

Ada applied for bankruptcy. She moved back in with her family.

LSK, Ada, Wong Hei and Lee Fung went to visit the Big Buddha in China to help Helen Ma. Thus, Helen invited LSK to attend her art exhibition.

Once they arrived, LSK planned to introduce men to her daughters. While LSK was busy introducing Maggie to someone, Ada and Gigi walked away. They met Helen's godson, Tang Ying Man who was admiring an artpiece. He complained about the artpiece being put at this corner of the exhibition. Ada was attracted to him (because he was rich) and agreed with him. But, Gigi disagreed and voiced out her opinion. Tang admired what she said, making Ada feel left out.

Esther hired Ada to work in her company. The company had to organize Lau Dan's jewellery company's 40th anniversary dinner. Maria and Ada were put in charge.

Eddie became very rich after selling off the jade pendant. He got a makeover and bought a lot of new things with his money.

(A cute sisters scene!) Gigi gave Ada a dress to wear for the dinner. Then Maggie came in and argued with Ada. All 3 sisters end up playing with rubber bands!

(Sweet Wong Hei-Ada scene) Ada asked Wong Hei to dance with her to test the lightings.

Eddie came to interrupt the event and told everyone that Lau Dan cheated his father's money. Coincidentally, John found out that Eddie was the son of his old good friend who once worked with him in the jewellery business.

The booklets for the event were left in the office, Gigi offered to take them. But she was locked in and couldn't go back. After that, Ada received news that her office was on fire. She then remembered that Gigi was still in the office and became frantic with worry. But Gigi already went back home before the office caught fire, so she was safe. Gigi also found out that Ada purposely asked her to go back to the office, so that she can have a chance with Tang. Maggie and Gigi decided to punish Ada by using rubber bands.

Eddie invited the Hong family for a meal. LSK and Maggie both noticed that Eddie had a crush on Gigi. But both of them did not like Eddie.

Eddie and John went out for a drink at a pub. Suddenly, people came and beat up Eddie. John jumped to conclusions and accused Lau Dan for ordering people to beat up Eddie.

Ada broke up with Tang, as he was not suitable for her.

Eddie created a big fuss and he used Bowie's name. But Bowie pretended that he doesn't know him. Kenny gave him a beating and reminded him that their relationship must not be exposed.

Eddie broke up with Casper.

Casper was angry, and wanted to go confront Gigi about this. Luckily Eddie stopped her in time. But Gigi coincidentally met them. They lied to her saying that Casper and Kenny were a pair and they were arguing.

Bowie was put in charge to organize Queenie (Chan Hung Lit's 3rd wife)'s concert, but he was only given 2 months to prepare it. Maggie was frustrated, so Kenny introduced her to boxing.

Eddie met Gigi and brought her to a nice restaurant for dinner. He gave her flowers and a heart-shaped ring. But Gigi was not ready for another relationship so she declined him.

Kenny helped Maggie find a venue for Queenie's concert. Maggie was so happy, she kissed Kenny. She immediately told Bowie, but at the same time, his assistants found out that Moses was having another venue for the concert.

Ngok Wah told Moses to let Chan Hung Lit have the venue. But Moses refused to do so and continued on with the concert by inviting a male singer.

Thoughts
Eddie's character is starting to get on my nerves. He's too impulsive! And I really like watching the sisters' interactions :]

Ahhh, a month for the veterans. Michelle looks very young and beautiful!! Haha and Nancy looks like she's a bit sleepy.

Charmaine looks a bit funny with that silver thing under her eyes, and I can't see Michael's face to well..

All the single ladies :P! They all look pretty and sexy. I also noticed that Suki likes to open her mouth when taking pictures..

The ladies' expressions look really good. I like Mandy's! I also find it funny that Michael is behind them. It's like he's not suppose to be in the picture XD

Once again, I like the ladies' expressions.. but the background/setting looks very plain. At least they were creative enough to add a white box there for Maggie and Gallen.

Whoa, four of my favourites in one month. This looks very classic and elegant. But again, the background's too plain and I'm disappointed to see Gigi's hair tied up into a bun.. Moses and Ada look very cool! Bowie looks... normal.

Bernice Liu stars in new Hollywood Movie "The King of Fighters" alongside Maggie Q

Recently, TVB Fadans has been entering the film industry, like Kate Tsui just became the new movie star favorite, Bernice also been chosen to participate in a Hollywood movie, she will be collaborating with Maggie Q as female fighters. This will make Bernice the first TVB Fadan to be a Hollywood movie star.

Working in Hollywood is an artiste's dream. For many years, several Asian artistes have successfully made it into Hollywood and made a famous name there. Artistes like Chow Yun Fat, Jackie Chan, Michelle Yeoh, Zhang ZiYi, Maggie Cheung and etc. Recent years, Isabella Leong and Gillian Chung also experienced working in Hollywood. Now, TVB released one of their Fadans, Bernice Liu to "investigate" on accepting a western movie called "The King of Fighters".

For many years, Bernice has always hoped to get a female fighter role, as in the new movie she'll be one female fighter, opposite of Maggie Q. It appears that Chris Evans from "The Fantastic Four" will also be part of this film. The filming started yesterday in Canada, because of the timing, the filming schedule was delayed for 2 months, causing Bernice's schedule to be a bit difficult. Because she didn't want to lose this great opportunity, so she was forced to reject advertisement jobs. This time of year is artistes' golden time period where many jobs for Christmas and New Years are offered, Bernice also had to reject those. Her new series "The Grand Entrepreneurs" (金錢誘罪) also needed some adjustments. It is estimated that she lost 7 figures of earnings because of this film, it is seen that she really wants to be part of this new movie.

As for TVB Executive Virgina Lok is fully supporting Bernice in entering the Hollywood industry, she laughs: "The movie has been discussed for half a year, Bernice knows that she will be a female fighter, she has been working hard with TVB in practicing Kung Fu moves. On the set, she also arrives earlier than other cast members, hopefully she'll adapt to the new environment. She called me a few days ago and reported the situation to me, she said the crew is very professional! She has not complained once on how difficult it is! (Is the salary good?) It's decent, most importantly this is a good opportunity, money is not an issue. TVB will fully support her." As for the director of the new movie Chan Ka, reporters have not been able to contact.

Wow! This is really something :] Bernice working with Maggie Q in a Hollywood movie. I can't imagine Bernice speaking English throughout the movie. It's a big opportunity for her, since TVB never really gives her any award. Go make us proud, Bernice!

The Gem of Life - Summary of Episode 6 to 10

My finals are finally over, so I can watch Gem now :]! But if my results aren't good, I will never be able to post again for a looong time O.O I can only make episode summaries on Gem because I watch it online, but the rest I'm watching on TV.. Note that this is a 'summary' so, only some scenes are mentioned..

Ada asked her friends whether they could rent a helicopter to find her husband Cheung Chi Kwong, but they did not want to help her. But her caring sister Maggie, told her that she would help her find him.

Moses and Bowie met and they arranged a boat race. They both agreed that if Bowie wins, Moses has to invest in Chi Kwong's company, but if Moses wins, Bowie will do anything Moses asks him to.

Gigi finds Ada eating in the restaurant in the hotel. Ada said that she would eat so that she can continue searching for her husband but she could not. Moses saw Ada and Gigi, he approaches them and tries to comfort Ada. At that time, Gigi found out that it was Moses who paid for the dress (in episode 5) but thought badly of him because he did not want to invest in Chi Kwong's company.

At first, Bowie won by cheating. But Moses noticed, so he filed a complain and Bowie's entry was disqualified. Thus Moses won.

Bowie's car broke down. They tried to hail for a taxi, but the taxi did not see them. Bowie was so angry, he released his anger by throwing a brick at the taxi. After that, Bowie admitted that he only used Kenny so that he can win the race for him.

Gigi fell asleep on the sofa, after asking Ada to clean herself up so that they can eat dinner afterwards. But when she woke up, Ada was not in the bathroom. Gigi became very worried and told Maggie and Wong Hei about it. They split up to look for her. Gigi saw Moses and tried to convince him to invest in the company. At the same time Moses was trying to avoid his father. Gigi helped him by pretending they had a one night stand so that his father can talk about what he has done another time.
Maggie was searching for Ada and met Bowie. Bowie pushed Maggie into the pool again. Maggie admitted that it was her who hit Bowie on the head the other day. When Maggie was on her way out of the pool, she hit Bowie's head again.

Wong Hei found Ada, but she was with Chi Kwong. He also found out that Ada & Chi Kwong were lying to them about Chi Kwong being missing. Wong Hei told Maggie about it and Maggie scolded Ada for doing so.

Lee Sze Kei suddenly had stomach cramps again and she really has to go back to Hong Kong for a check-up. Ada felt guilty and finally admitted to her parents that she lied to them. Maggie keeps asking Ada to repay them back their money.

Gigi still tried to convince Moses to invest in Chi Kwong's company's shares. She followed him to his boat, Moses was in a rush so he had to start the boat. But they were stuck at sea. Moses fell sick and Gigi took care of him. But something bad happened to his business back in Hong Kong, so he acted coldly towards Gigi after that. They finally reach Shenzen, but the reporters are already waiting for them.

Ada learnt that her husband cheated all her money.

Patrick called Maggie to file for divorce. Maggie could not accept the fact and used an excuse to leave the situation. She had to go to Shenzen to fetch Gigi back and also help her boss retrieve some film strips. Bowie calls Maggie and tells her that there are drugs in one of the 3 film strips her boss asked her to take home from Shenzen. Maggie had to risk opening them to see which one has the drugs, but none of them did. It seemed like Bowie tried to trick Maggie again. Maggie was very sad, and she told Gigi about Patrick wanting to file a divorce.

Ada gave a cheque to LSK, when actually the family already told her she did not need to pay them back. Gigi returned the cheque to Ada because she did not want Ada to lie again.

John was asked to determine whether the diamond necklace that Sung Sai Kay (real name in series, don't know his name in real life) brought were fake. He examined it, and found out that 2 diamonds were fake. But because John thought that Lau Dan wanted him to say they were real, John lied to Sai Kay, saying they were real.

Wong Hei helped Gigi find a job at a jewellery store. She met Eddie, who is a newspaper stall owner. Eddie immediately fell in love with her.

Bowie went to visit his mother.. he went to his mother's house after dinner and this old man approached them. Bowie assumed that he was one of his mother's 'clients' (his mother was a prostitute last time) and he beat him up. He also re-stocked all the food cans at home for his mother.

LSK was out eating with her good friend. Suddenly a little boy shot them with a water gun. His mother came to his aid. She called for her husband and Patrick (Maggie's husband) appeared. LSK then finds out Patrick has a mistress.

Eddie met Gigi. It was raining very heavily and flooding, so Eddie offered to carry Gigi on his back to get across the flood. Eddie's girlfriend Casper, saw him carrying her and felt jealous.
Eddie found out that Gigi was being transfered to another lot. He became very sad and brought his girlfriend out for dinner. He got drunk and started yelling that he was suppose to be a rich person, but Lau Dan cheated his father's money. Bowie was in the same restaurant and overheard him.

Also.. LSK did some things to try to help Maggie and Ada solve their problems.

Thoughts
Awww.. poor Ada. Her husband cheated all her money! I really like the Wong Hei-Ada, Moses-Gigi and ~~Moses~~Gigi-Eddie scenes :D I heard the next 5 episodes have quite a lot of business talk. Oh no O.O

The Gem of Life - Episode 1 to 5

I had a 2-day break from my finals, I couldn't resist watching The Gem of Life XD This is a summarization for episodes 1 -5..

Maggie managed to get an invitation card to go for an event, which Ada will be present as well. But since there were rumours spreading about Cheung Chi Kwong (Ada's husband) with Maggie's artiste Josephine, Ada prevented her from entering. But eventually Maggie attended the function and was creating a scene. Ada came and explained to the reporters about everything between Josephine and Chi Kwong.

Gigi has returned from Canada and wanted to lend money from Ada to help her husband open art studio. Their relationship is not as stable as before. Ada lent the money to Gigi, and told her she must not return to Hong Kong.

The cheque was dishonoured, Gigi asked Wong Hei to help her by pretending to be a rich man trying to pursue Gigi so that Rocky will love her back again. The plan succeeded but at that time, Rocky only wanted Gigi for money. The whole family + Rocky had dinner that night, LSK exposed his secret about having another girlfriend and Gigi was heartbroken.

Gigi and Rocky have separated, Maggie asked Gigi to accompany her to work one day. Gigi met Chi Kwong and his friend and they went out for dinner. But his friend did not show up, so Gigi and Chi Kwong were left alone. Reporters caught them together and Ada was furious.

LSK and Maggie attended a charity dinner and Maggie's artiste Matt Yeung, was asked to become a host that night. But Maggie found out that he was in a relationship with someone's wife. LSK misunderstood Maggie for having an affair with Matt. She arranged to meet Matt and tell him not to be involved in other people's marriage. Coincidentally, Patrick (Maggie's husband) was there and heard everything, which got him misunderstood as well.

John (or David) resigned from his job and decided to open a business. Chi Kwong's company was about to go bankrupt, and tried to convince Moses to invest in their company's shares but Moses refused to do so. Moses and Bowie had a boat race (from then on, you can see that they weren't very fond of each other already).

Maggie went to see Bowie for business purposes, but Bowie pushed Maggie into the water. That night, Patrick arranged to meet Maggie in the same hotel. But Maggie appeared wet and Patrick arranged to meet another time. Maggie was furious and took revenge by hitting Bowie on the head with her high heels.

Chi Kwong helped John open his business, when he is already going to go bankrupt. Ada feels guilty because they are somehow cheating his money. Eventually, LSK found out about their bankruptcy and asked Ada and Gigi not to tell Maggie or John about it. John found out about LSK's stomach cramps.

Gigi was angry because Ada told her mum she was about to go bankrupt but she is still buying branded clothes. Ada scolded her back about how Gigi's husband left her. She cried and Moses who was in the same store heard her crying. Gigi saw a beautiful dress beside her and went to try it out. Moses complimented her and bought the dress for her.

Maggie follows Bowie and tries to convince him to sign the contract. Bowie signs the contract but after a while Maggie notices that the ink is fading. She went back and asked him to sign it again. But after meeting with her sister Ada, it was gone. Now everyone knows about Chi Kwong's company going bankrupt. He suddenly went missing and Ada asked Moses to help look for him.

Thoughts
So far, so good :] I'm enjoying the series and I do not think it's slow or draggy. They went straight to the sisters' problems. LSK is doing an excellent job being a strict mother! She's so smart and cunning in the series. LSK mentioned that Ada is her favourite daughter (in the series) because Maggie is stubborn and Gigi always makes her angry. Wong Hei grew up with the 3 sisters and once pursued Gigi when they were young. Gigi's character is really naive, I can't wait to watch the part where she turns into a more confident lady. So far, I really like Wong Hei and Ada's relationship! I really don't know which sister I like most cause all 3 of them are quite likable :P

Haha, this is something I have to post about.. it came to me as a shock because Gigi's retirement is quite early. I saw it coming already, but never thought it would be now..

I was pretty sad myself when I heard about it :[! Gigi was the first actress I ever liked from TVB. She's stunningly beautiful. Other than that, I used to dislike her crying because of the heavy breathing that would come along with it. But I do think that it has improved a whole lot. Especially in The Gem of Life (judging on the first 2 episodes and previews).

She's one of the main reasons why I love TVB (besides the series and the other artistes), was GIGI! I remember straying away from TVB and going for English/Korean series, but after watching The Dance of Passion with who else but Gigi in it, I felt that magnetic force to watch TVB series once more. Well yeah, the series was not as good as the previous, successful Chik series, but Gigi captured my attention in that series. I'll have to thank Chik for that :]

Watching The Gem of Life would be very hard for me also, bearing in mind that this is her last series. I will have to treasure it, and try not miss out on any episodes (but of course after my finals!). I do hope she reconsiders about returning to TVB again one day.

God bless you Gigi. I will always support you! Hopefully all goes well with your family too!

Coming from a very humble background, POON MUK HING (~~Steven~~ Joe Ma) nevertheless is content with his lot. He works for the POONs of Dongshan as driver. His true identity of the eldest son of the family comes to light when he saves POON CHEUK WAH (Raymond Wong), the young master, in an accident. CHONG FUNG YEE (Liza Wang), the first daughter-in-law in the family, has to admit unwillingly the fact that when she married into the family she was already pregnant. His true identity revealed, HING changes his name to POON CHEUK HING according to the genealogical table of the clan. The mother and son have since been locked in a seesaw struggle.

YIP HEUNG CHING (Charmaine Sheh) came from an influential family in Xiguan. She starts selling congee on a boat for a living with her elder brother after their family has fallen into decline. CHING and WAH used to go out but YEE did all she could to separate them. Later, CHING opens a teahouse with the help and support of HING. Spontaneously, love blossoms between them. I was really shocked (just like every other Tavia fan out there) that she wasn't nominated for Best Actress, AND is nominated again for Most Improved. It really sounds very de-grading for Tavia. Hasn't she already won it in 2003?!

I do have a feeling it's Raymond's year to win. He achieved great success this year, in both his singing and his acting career. Besides that, I thought that it was Susanna's turn to win this year because she was really good in Moonlight Resonance. The fights, the arguing, the soft parts.. she did it brilliantly. Lee Sze Kei also, but I don't think TVB will present her the award again since she won last year.

Wayne has been in TVB for too long, and he still hasn't got a single award from TVB! He only got 2 in the Astro Awards, early this year and it's not like his acting wasn't good. It's his year to shine :] Ha Yu also did an awesome job being Jo Ba in Moonlight Resonance, being both the bad dad (in the first 10 eps), and the caring good dad (towards the end).

I did not bold these (Most Improved Actor/Actress) because I didn't know which one to choose. And I'm not very keen of these awards also. The nominees list didn't really catch my attention or anything. So I just chose the one I liked most among the 5 in its respective categories. Sharon & Cho Lam! They're both pretty good in acting, and I really do see improvement in Sharon.

The Gem of Life 珠光寶氣

You may wish to be a famous socialite.
You may wish to have fame and fortune.
But is that really what you will wish for at the end?

In PAK SIU-YAU (Louise Lee Sze Kei)'s eyes, her three daughters are just as perfect as diamonds. She believes that the greatest blessing for a woman is to marry a wealthy man. To guarantee a better life for her daughters, she has started training the girls since they were young, hoping that they will marry into the richest families when they mature.

YAU's first daughter HONG NGA-YIN (Maggie Shiu Mei Kei) does not agree with her on her values. Yet when she sees that the man YIN is going out with is KO CHEUNG-SING (Bowie Lam), who is very well-off, she decides to let YIN go with her choice. YAU's second daughter HONG NGA-TUNG (Gigi Lai Chi) is hopelessly romantic but does not seem to have much luck with men. An amazing fan, recorded a trailer (or maybe it's the themevideo, but it's sooo long so I doubt it, maybe it's the themesong MV) from the TGOL promotional event today (28th Sept). It's somewhere in the middle. In the beginning it's just Moses, Linda etc walking in.

Quite a lot of background talking though. Funny how when Queenie Chu comes out from the pool, you can hear people saying 'WAHHHH'. And it's so sweet at the end, where the whole family (Hong family) hugs each other.

Hardhearted and smart MO CHING (Raymond Lam) became a crippled when he was young. Fortunately CHING has met CHU KOT CHING NGO (Dominic Lam), the Head of the Sheriff Bureau, and has learnt from him his unparalleled skills of using concealed weapons. CHU has once helped the Sung Emperor recover an invaluable piece of article that the empire has long lost. To reward CHU, the Emperor reopened the Sheriff Bureau. In addition to CHING, CHU has recruited ZEOI MING (Sammul Chan), a cunning swindler, TIT SAU (Kenneth Ma), an honest guy and the cold-blooded LANG HUYT (Ron Ng), and called them The Four.

The Sheriff Bureau has cracked many difficult cases under the leadership of CHU. After having gone through thick and thin with the others, CHING has become a lot less arrogant. He has fallen in love with SONG CHI YIN (Tsui Tsz Shan, Kate), a herb doctor, but she is only using him to sow dissension. The Four, furthermore deepens the hatred between him and SAU. Ada, Gigi and Maggie look sexy, Linda looks a bit anorexic and the rest look pretty good. From the picture, we already know that the series is going to be very grand!!
Bernice and Sunny collaborate once again, after The Slicing of The Demon :] I didn't get to feel their chemistry in the series, so I hope I get to feel it this time.
Roger, Kevin and Yoyo in Last One Standing (22nd September). Both Roger & Kevin are two of the few actors with great potential, so I'm watching this for them! Yoyo's character looks too similar to her character in The Ultimate Crime Fighter. She looks tomboy-ish again. But, we'll never know till we watch the series.

Only When Easterly Showers Fall On The Sunny West hasn't aired yet. Liza & Charmaine again. Liked their collaboration in Glittering Days which I'm watching now.

Thoughts: Your Class Or Mine

The series is about Bobby (Pang Kam Chau), who sells grey products but his girlfriend cheated him and took everything away because both of them have been dating for a long time and Bobby has still not proposed to her. So he goes bankrupt, but finds another chance by using (tricking) a soccer team coach Benz (Fan Tai Wai). Then Bobby becomes the Operation Director of the team and he promises to help all the team players achieve good results in the coming examinations. But instead of asking them to study, he encourages them to waste their time doing unhealthy activities. So Derek (Ching Kwok Chu) who sponsors the soccer team tries to hire the popular and effective tutor, Sheren (Yim Ka Lai) to teach the team players (+ some other cheerleaders as well i think)

Bobby & Sheren often bicker in the series because they're teaching techniques are different. The academic performance of the team varies a lot but Bobby discovers that Benz's son (Law Chung Him). But Derek takes revenge by asking Sheren to make the soccer team into a mess. Bobby is very angry so he reveals to everyone the secret relationship between Sheren & Derek (lovers). All of a sudden, Sherens splendid tutorial career is coming to an end.

It's obvious (i'm guessing!) that Bobby & Sheren will be having a love relationship in the series. Like in the themesong (vide0) I saw this part where Bobby was carrying Sheren and turning her around. Btw, the themesong sounded awkward when I first heard it. But after that, it sounded okay and I didn't mind listening to it again. But it's not the best.

Bobby and Sheren were suppose to be casted in The Charm Beneath as the two older siblings, but instead Moses and Gigi got it. Well, not to say I don't like Moses and Gigi (in fact, I LOVE both of them!), but I really wanted to see Bobby and Sheren collaborate for once. Yayyy finally got to see their collaboration, and it was good :]

The 'newcomer' (he's not really a newcomer, he has been in a few movies/shows i think) Law Chung Him (Him Law) is doing quite good in acting. I see a bright future ahead of him, if he's exposed to more series that is. And the rest of them (Bobby, Sheren, Oscar etc) are doing pretty good as well. They're all hilarious! But I think without Bobby, Sheren, Derek, Kenneth and Oscar casted, I think the series would MAYBE do very bad because I don't know anyone else from the series, except for Mimi, Rabee'a, Benjamin and Benz. Anyways, i'm not done with the series so I can't judge the overall series for now. Sorry for the late post too btw!

Last One Standing; Hollywood & TVB!

Last One Standing is confirmed to be airing at September 22, taking MR's time slot. The series looks intriguing to me! I'm gonna watch this if I have time :] And Yoyo's character in LOS seems similar to her character in The Ultimate Crime Fighter... The title was previously called 'Walking With The Enemy', but I personally like 'Last One Standing' better. The cast includes Roger Kwok, Kevin Cheng, Yoyo Mung, Kiki Sheung, Elaine Yiu, Evergreen Mak, Fiona Yuen, Macy Chan etc. The series has 22 episodes.

Kevin (Cheung Sing Hei) was accused for killing his stepfather and was sent to prison. The person who witnessed the killing was his cousin, Roger (Tong Lap Yin). After he was released from prison, he tries to find the truth behind the murder. While investigating, he meets Yoyo (Lei Pui Ka) who is a reporter. But Yoyo is actually Roger's girlfriend. So I'm guessing there's a love triangle between them?

Have you ever noticed that some of the TVB stars, also resemble some Hollywood stars? Here are a few TVB celebs which reminded me of the other Hollywood celebs.

Liza Wang - Julie Andrews
They're both highly respected in the entertainment industry and have been in the entertainment industry for a VERY long time! Both can sing.. Liza sings Cantonese Opera and Julie sang LOTS of songs from all kinds of movies (The Sound of Music, Mary Poppins etc).

Roger Kwok - Johnny Depp
Both of them are versatile and can play almost any character given. Who could forget Roger's comedic character in Life Made Simple? And of course Johnny's performance in Pirates of The Caribbean sequels. And from the sales presentation of Roger's new series, Last One Standing.. it LOOKS like he's going to play a serious, cunning man. Johnny's character from Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, looks a bit similar to Roger's from LOT, but less scary I bet.

Niki Chow - Emma Rossum
Both were recognized for their acting at first, and then concentrated on releasing albums and singing. But of course they did not let go of their 'actress' status. Both are young as well! Not to mention since they released albums, their voices are beautiful :)

Bobby Au Yeung - Jim Carrey/Steve Carell
All 3 of them are well-known for their comedic characters. Jim Carrey stars in Dumb and Dumber, Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events and Bruce Almighty. Steve Carell never fails to impress us, some of his movies are Evan Almighty and Get Smart. Bobby's characters are also mostly hilarious and playful (Your Class or Mine, Armed Reaction sequels, Shine On You) and that's what makes him so popular. But when they have to act serious, they also succeed in doing so.

Gigi Lai: Her Ups and Downs.

I think Gigi deserves a post in my blog, since I'm a huge fan of hers AND because I find her very brave and strong, to have overcome so many different challenges that almost scarred her for life.

Family Background

Before her grandmother's death, she lived a huge mansion with all her relatives. She lived like a princess. But after that, she moved into a flat where the residents all had to share toilets because her father was not able to fight for the inheritance of the family. So his siblings took all the money, leaving him with almost nothing. It was very difficult for her parents because her father was deaf and her mother was uneducated. So she had to earn money by entering the entertainment industry, and she was only 14.

How she made her way to stardom

She joined the entertainment circle at the age of 14. How? Well, it was all thanks to HK music legend, Sam Hui.

Since her family was very poor back when she was young, her father worked in a fitness club. She would usually go to the fitness club everyday after school. One day, Sam Hui was at the same fitness club and her father and him were friends because her father was very nice with everyone there. Sam notices Gigi and complimented her. He introduced her to his company.

They were filming Happy Ghost II (Gigi's first movie) and she was just being one the classmates (a very minor role). In one scene, the director asked them to pretend to cry because the teacher is leaving the school. So the shooting started, and there was this particular person who was interrupting the scene with her loud crying. That person was Gigi. After that, a Caucasian cameraman told the crew that she had potential, and that's where her career started off.

Ever since, she has filmed all kinds of movies, from gangster movies (Young and Dangerous I,II,III & IV) to horror movies (Haunted Mansion). Then she moved on to her singing career. She has won numerous awards for her singing and has released 7 albums in both Mandarin and Cantonese. Later on, she started acting in series and she caught the audience's attention most in 2004's War and Beauty. She won the 'Best Actress' award for 2004. There were many debates about this among the netizens as whether she deserved the award.

Over the years, she has developed and maintained many good relationships with her fellow colleagues/friends. She was the matchmaker of Christine Ng and Carmen Choi's marriage.

Her love life
Since she was young, she always wanted to get married and start a family as soon as possible. Gigi would like a guy who is responsible and loving towards her. She does not care whether he is rich or poor. She only wants him to be faithful to him.

She has dated a lot of famous people such as Wong Yuk Long, Hui Jun Hung, the dentist Jung Siu Po, Choi Zi Ming, the owner of East Daily Ma Ting Keung etc. But all the relationships failed. Now she is still waiting for her Mr. Right.

In their younger years, Gigi enjoyed pinching his cheeks and snatching his toys. After all these years, they still share a very close bond, and are the best of friends. Gigi paid for her brother's education to study dermatology in England. Now, he is a well-known dermatologist with his own clinic. He once asked her to retire from acting and let him take care of her (he is actually very rich). But in May last year, his dream of taking care of his sister, is all shattered, as he was involved in a serious car accident.

Last year in May, Lai Ying (Gigi's brother) was involved in a serious car accident. He was going home in a taxi when another car suddenly cut across their path. Unfortunately the two cars crashed and Lai Ying was flung out of the taxi. His head hit the pavement and blood was flowing non-stop from his head.

It was reported earlier that her brother might become a 'vegetable'. In June last year, Gigi took a temporary break from filming The Gem of Life to take care of her brother in the hospital. He had done Fortunately, her brother's condition improved and now he is able to eat his own food. This year, she did not film any series (except The Gem of Life) because she wanted to take care of her brother's dermatology clinic.

She has been learning a lot about marketing, accounting, skin care knowledge etc. Recently, she mentioned that she still needs to consider whether to leave the entertainment industry. But after that, she said that she missed filming and she will be back next year.

Moonlight Resonance: Comparisons between characters (Part 3); Poll #1

The younger females of the two series:

Is known as Jackie in HOG, and Ah Yuet in MR.
Jackie is a model, who is forced into marriage with someone she doesn't have feelings for and abuses her. After that she had a divorce with him and married Bosco's character. She was quite naive in the beginning of the series, but later on.. she becomes more matured.
Ah Yuet was left at the front of the bakery by her biological mother and LSK's character took her in as a daughter. So she is actually adopted. She might seem very strong and tough on the outside, but in the inside she has this mindset of not being part of the family.

In the beginning of the series, Sheung Joi Sam is struggling with financial problems. She also has a father who is having Alzheimer's disease. She is a young lawyer. At first she is not confident of herself, but after the many challenges she has overcome, she learns to become more confident and mature.
Yu So Chau's mother is Michelle's character. She actually came from a poor family, until her mother married Ha Yu. She studied in England and then came back to Hong Kong. She is very kind, soft and friendly to everyone she meets.

Chi Yan is a playful and flirtatious teenager. She cares for the family very much. But after all the conflicts and problems the family has faced, she will slowly mature. She is also quite carefree because her two older brothers (Bosco and Chris) are always there to take care of her.
This time, Ah Hing is a mute character. She has a kind, peaceful and sweet nature. She works very hard in life and is smart, but she would rather work at the bakery. But her family members encourage her to work outside because working at the bakery would be a waste of potential.

Moonlight Resonance: Episode 14

I thought that I would do some random episode write-ups for MR, if I feel like it xD!
I'll continue on the comparison part 3 post another day :]

Hehe if you don't mind, my screencaps aren't of high quality! And I don't post about EVERY single thing about the episode, just the important parts. But I do specify the parts.

Michelle calls Ha Yu and asks him why hasn't he come back yet. Ha Yu tells her that he was so happy he forgot to call her. Ha Yu hangs up. Michelle becomes jealous and angry!

Suddenly she saw Chris sitting beside the pool alone. She went over to cheer him up because he and his girlfriend, Carmen (HAHA Carmen!) broke up with him.

The whole family went back to celebrate and Ha Yu was drunk so let him sleep in their house first.

Fala receives a sms and goes to the hall to read it. She then starts crying and then the whole family went over to see what was wrong. She mentioned that she typed something wrong that day at work and her boss sent her a sms to scold her. LSK went over to comfort her. Fala said that she was in a bad mood and she wanted LSK to cheer her up like 'last time'. LSK gave her the 'Are you serious?!' look.

Ha Yu woke up because he heard loud music, so he came out of the room and saw LSK dancing with a wig on. She turned around while dancing and saw Ha Yu there.

[i thought this part was super funny so i decided to post it up!]

Moses + the Chung household all went out for an outing. Ha Yu video-called them and after a while, it rained. Ha Yu warned them that it is going to rain soon at their place. But Moses did not believe him because it was so sunny. Suddenly, it started to rain and they all ran home!

Raymond and Linda were in the car and passed by Fala and Dexter. Fala and Dexter were arguing over something. Raymond went to her sister's aid. When the bus came, Fala quickly escaped the scene.

Raymond and Linda have been looking for Fala all day. After searching, they found her sitting at a telephone booth. Raymond wanted to wait for her, and asked Linda to go home first. But Linda wanted to stay and mentioned she was given the nickname 'Sleepy Monster' because she can sleep anywhere. At first, Fala said she won't be coming home for dinner. In the end, Fala sms-ed Raymond to come pick her up.

The next day, Fala explained everything to Raymond and Linda. She said that Dexter was the one who always went home last at work. He gave up taking the car to work, and took the mini bus to work, with her. But he doesn't talk with her. One day, she saw him reading a sign language book. He finally told her he did all those things because of her.

They have been dating for 3 months. One day they were holding hands walking down the street. All of a sudden, he let go of her hands because he saw his mother. He told her they were just colleagues. She was very upset and left. She overheard his mother saying that she pitied her because she would have to struggle in the future. She now misses and still likes Dexter. She decided to resign from her job.

Michelle and Ha Yu decided to take a day off to spend time together. Michelle told him to stop going to LSK's house because she is afraid that Ha Yu will hurt LSK's feelings. But Ha Yu denied what she said. Michelle said that she is also a woman, she knows how LSK feels. Ha Yu agrees. (As you all know Michelle is evil. So actually, she told him not to see her because she doesn't want them to be so close)

Fala was boarding the mini bus and saw Dexter also wanting to. But there wasn't enough space, so he couldn't. Dexter then sms-ed her asking whether he could meet up with her for the last time. Fala said OK. So that night, they met at the port. Dexter tried to convince Fala to go back to her job. But Fala did not want to.. so Dexter gave up and walked away.

At a distance, Ha Yu was watching their argument. After Dexter walked away, he went up to Fala and asked her what was happening. She did not want to answer him and cried. But from her hand language, Ha Yu knew that was heartbroken. So he called Raymond and the whole family to come cheer her up.

Meanwhile, Ha Yu wore the wig and fake nose and danced to the music to cheer Fala up. After that the whole family came and sang alot.

The man (click here to see picture!) called Michelle and told her all of Ha Yu's phone calls and text messages. Michelle was extremely jealous and convinced Lee Heung Kam to go visit the Chung household because she knows that Ha Yu is going there.

So the 3 of them went to their house. the Chung household + Moses & Vincent were shocked to see her visiting all of a sudden. They invited the 3 of them in. Moses quickly asked Raymond to tell Ha Yu not to come. But his handphone had no battery, so both of them wanted to go down to tell Ha Yu. Michelle suspected something. But suddenly LHK felt dizzy, so Raymond had to go bring her home.

Ha Yu was on his way up, till he saw them so he went down again. But because he was rushing, he was involved in a car accident but only had minor injuries.

PHEW! There you go.. Episode 14 :]

LOL I just found out it wasn't easy making a post like the earlier one.
Oh and thanks everyone for their moral support towards this very new blog!!

Anyways, I'm gonna continue with the younger males of the 2 series!

[Warning, alot of major spoilers ahead!]

Moses Chan

He is known as Sai Bao in HOG, and Ah Ga in MR.
Sai Bao is a very happy, cheerful man. He is quite childish and loves to make people happy. He is a very good friend, therefore he will try his best to help his friends/relatives. He has the nature of his father (Ha Yu), but his mother is not Lee Sze Kei nor Susanna.
Ah Ga is the oldest among his siblings in the family. He is playful and carefree. When he was about to be taken away from LSK, he promised her that he will take care of his brothers. When he grew up, he became obsessed with buying stocks. In episode 9, he failed in one of his projects and thinking that his boss (Astrid) likes him, he kissed her. He was fired by Astrid for making the company lose a big client.

Raymond Lam

Alfred is a young, prominent lawyer. He is very confident in everything he does. He is also very smart and a lot of girls (such as Linda, Yoyo & Tracy) fall in love with him.
Ah Ho is a family-oriented person. He cares alot for the family and is trying his best to reunite the family. He likes to work in the bakery with his family members. He is a responsible person and carries the burdens of the family, trying to help and not tire out LSK.

Bosco Wong

Also known as Gilbert/Ah Gil in HOG.
Gilbert studied overseas and came back in the beginning of the series. He is a bit arrogant and sometimes very serious and mature in the things he does. He is also spoiled by his family.
This time in MR, he is not related to any of them in the series. He will only appear after episode 16. He appears when a pregnant lady is about to give birth and he helps her (He is a doctor).

Chris Lai

Ah Foon is like the goodie-2-shoes in the family. He is very obedient to his mother (Susanna) and is always on her side. At the end, he didn't want to side his mother, instead he sides is brother Moses because he found out his mother has been doing a lot of cruel things behind the family's back.
Ah Yuen is a very spoiled, but smart person. He is favoured by his stepmother (Michelle) and has a lot of potential in the bakery business. He will marry Kate later in the series.

Moonlight Resonance: Comparisons between characters (Part 1)

I am currently watching Moonlight Resonance, and rewatching Heart of Greed to analyze deeper into both series and find the differences and similarities between the two.
Yoyo Mung is no longer in MR, but there are some additional casts such as Kate Tsui and Vincent Wan. The remaining characters from HOG have their own different backgrounds and personalities in MR.

Ha Yu

Tong Yan Gaai is also known as Dai Bao in HOG. Gam Tai Jo is known as Jo Ba in MR.
Dai Bao is a very happy cheerful person. He is the source of joy in the family. He enjoys life as much as possible until he passed away at the last few episodes.
Jo Ba is a career-minded person. He is sometimes hot-headed and stubborn. He is very obedient to his wife and mother. But in episode 9-10, he admitted that he was wrong to choose Michelle's character only for her looks and he wants to be able to spend his time with his children like last time.

Lee Sze Kei

In HOG, she is also known as Dai Kai. In MR, she's known as Hor Ma.
Dai Kai is a loving mother and is well-respected among the family members. You can say she is the leader of the Tong family. She is a very humble person, but she is also sturdy and tough at times. She passes away at the end of the series.
Hor Ma's character is almost the same as in HOG. But this time, she had a divorce with Ha Yu's character because he wanted to marry Michelle's character. She works in the bakery with her 3 children (Raymond, Fala and Tavia). She likes to make people happy with her 'rotten gags'.

Michelle Yim

In HOG, she is Lee Sze Kei's younger sister. She cares alot for the family and tries to hold everyone together. Long ago, she fell in love with a doctor and he cheated all her money. The family eventually forgives her.
In MR, she is a villain and a glamorous woman. On the exterior, she looks like a gentle, caring mother. But inside, she is cruel. When she was around her 20's (in the show), she got a job at Ha Yu & LSK's bakery. At first Ha Yu did not approve of her working there because she did not have any past experience in baking. But LSK pitied her and let her work there. She was ungrateful and a secret affair with Ha Yu. One day she forces Ha Yu to tell LSK about their affair. She succeeds at doing so and Ha Yu marries her after divorcing LSK. Ha Yu's mother (Lee Heung Kam) likes her more than LSK because she thinks that Michelle is raising the children well while LSK is letting her children work in the bakery, and not studying overseas like the rest of them.

Susanna Kwan

Sau Kam is known as Sai Kai in HOG while in MR, people call her Sa Yi (Auntie Sa).
Her character in HOG is Ha Yu's 2nd wife. Susanna was a villain. She is bossy and calculative. She is also slick and had an affair with another man. After Ha Yu's death, she wanted his inheritance and also the business.
In MR, she is LSK's sister. She is very thick-skinned, selfish and wants to be youthful. She lived in Portugal with her husband and daughter (Kate Tsui) but then she returned to Hong Kong because she divorced him.

Hey everyone! This is Carmen here!
I had a personal blog and I tried to cram alot of TVB stuff inside, but unfortunately I found it a bit inappropriate to do so. Which is why, I made this blog. Just to add, I will be updating my personal blog as well, so it's not abandoned or anything!

This is just a very simple blog, where I, an ordinary TVB fan post about what I think of TVB & their latest series, gossip and news. I am also thinking of doing reviews. Since I do stuff in Photoshop, I'll share them with you guys here as well!

Let me just start off with my favourites in TVB. I love Gigi, Ada, Tavia, Myolie, Melissa, Jessica, Moses, Bosco, Raymond, Kevin, Bowie & Ron. There are others that I like.. but the list will be very long!

YES, I do not have beautiful layouts like the rest of the blogs out there. I'm trying my best in customizing the blog and I'm very new in this, so do forgive me if my blog gives you a sore eye! I'm still working on the blog layout and everything.
